"Ice Cream" Skating Under The Pines
Yesterday we started getting a little stir crazy around the house so we made a short trip to Pinehurst (where the U.S. Open is held) with my parents who are visiting for the week. Gorgeous is an understatement! I don't even like golf (except when I'm watching my hubby play..love you babe), and I was ready to grab a set of clubs!
We found an event called "Skating Under the Pines". Yes. Ice skating. What a perfect opportunity to take my two-year-old for the first time, right? Of course not. We built up this experience so much before we got there and poor little Ava thought we were going "ice cream" skating, as in skating on ice cream.
We get to the "ice" and it wasn't real. It was plastic. Is that even a thing? I can't even count how many times my body went into the splits in those 5 minutes. Still feeling it today!
Other than our failed ice skating experience, we had a really wonderful time! I love family days, especially when you have Lolli and PopPop to help with the kiddos :)
